BOMDILA/DIRANG/RUPA, Apr 27: Arunachal bagged a record 50 medals, including 16 gold, 17 silver and 17 Bronze, on the second day of the 25th North East Games today.
As expected, karate players bagged highest number of medals (8 gold, 2 silver), while Wushu players won 5 gold and Judokas won 3 Gold.
Karatekas Rei Yadi (50 kg), Nabum Nasap (30 kg), Oyi Libang (35 kg), Taat Menia (40 kg),Yomken Noshi (70 kg) won gold in girls category while Neta Menjo (40 kg), Vinod Degio (40 kg) and PC Dingla (45 kg) won gold medals in men’s category. Bulang David and Juna Dada won a silver medal each in Men’s and Women’s category.
In wushu, Reshma Devi, Anjoy Basumotary, Yaiphabi Chanu, Kishan Chetia and the duo of Jema Brama and Padmini (Dual event) won a gold medal each in their respective categories.

NERCPA annual conference begins
with executive meet
NAHARLAGUN, Apr 27: The 13th annual executive committee meeting of North East region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (NERCPA) began at Nokmey Namati Hall, Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Naharlagun today.
The secretary, NERCPA, G P Das presented the annual report, including fund position of the organization. The annual contribution of one lakh rupees from each member state amounted to Rs. 89, 26,222.29 as of today.
In the open discussion session, the house opined that some amount of the money should now be used for developmental purposes or for charity. They also suggested that money could be invested so as to have the highest returns.
Earlier, Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Wanglin Lowangdong welcomed the house and thanked all the delegates from other North Eastern states who were present in spite of all the inconveniences to discuss various problems affecting these states.
Earlier, the chairman, Charles Pyngrope also thanked all the speakers and deputy speakers of various participatory states for attending the meet.

We enjoy in others’ happiness and shares their grief. This is what India has since time immemorial,” he said. The central Government particularly the DoNER Ministry has a very soft corner for the state and taking every care to bring the state at par with other states. The DoNER has increased its allocation to 35 percent which is highest among all the NE states and the same highest allocation is also given from the North Eastern Council, he added.
Terming the construction of Interstate road from Ziro to Driga near Lilabari (Assam), western ring road from Pine Grove to Kardo, link road from Neelam to Pistana, the minister assured to take up these projects on priority. The fund for Construction of a Mini secretariat at Ziro to house the office of Deputy commissioner and allied departments will be approved from the North Eastern Council (NEC), he further announced.

ANSU opposes appointment of ARRDA CEO
ITANAGAR, Apr 27: All Nyishi Students’ Union has demanded immediate revocation of appointment of K C Dhimole as chief executive officer of ARRDA.
The union in a memorandum to Chief Secretary said that despite repeated protests
lodged by All Nyishi Students' Union in particular and other organizations in general
against the extension of government employees’ retirement age, Dhimole, who was supposed
to retire on March 31 last, has been reappointed as chief executive officer of ARRDA
for one year on contract basis on April 1 last. Reappointment of Dhimole is a violation
of then government notification (order No. PERS (C) 2/93 dated 11 Feb 1993 which
decided to impose blanket ban on extension of services of Govt employees, the Union
said while adding that such appointments cease the opportunity of the unemployed
youths. It further said that the government is not serious about the growing unemployment
problems in the state and promotional avenue of in-

Member of Parliament Takam Sanjoy who inaugurated the festival said that the festival concept itself seems to provide the younger generation on whom the future lies, a credible opportunity in showcasing the rich cultural diversities and stamina and potentials in people of Arunachal Pradesh. Sanjoy appealed the younger generations to keep pace with the changing time and situations without compromising on the tradition and culture. RBPF and ABK approves Semen River as permanent district boundary
ITANAGAR, Apr 27: Ramle Banggo Peoples’ Forum (RBPF) conducted a peoples’ referendum meeting at Depi village, East Siang District today.
The meeting was chaired by Adi Baane Kebang (ABK) President Kangir Jamoh and attended by all central executive body of ABK, all district units ABK, ABK Youth Wing, ABK Women wing including GBs, Panchayat leaders of Adi dominated areas and other publics.
During the meeting, the house unanimously approved Semen River as permanent boundary of East Siang and West Siang district.
It was also resolved that members from ABK and Ramle Banggo Peoples’ Forum be included in the boundary commission if such commission/committee is initiated by the State Government.
The meeting also resolved that the public will not go against the creation of Lower Siang District if the proposed new district is created without disturbing the present natural boundary i.e., Simen river. However, ABK and RBPF would go for democratic movement against the transfer and shifting of areas which presently fall under East Siang district, it added.

ITANAGAR, Apr 27: All Arunachal Pradesh Unemployed Trained Teachers Association (AAPUTTA) has demanded for early recruitment in Senior Teachers posts. The Association said that 100 posts of ST were approved by the state cabinet last year.

Such appointments after the expiry date completely ceased the path for creating job vacancies and completely deprived the unemployed youth to participate in open competitive interview in days to come, it added.
It also demanded early fixation of exact waiting list duration and proper implementation of both promotional rules and recruitment rules.
The memorandum further added that, preferences should be given to the DIET, B.Ed and M.Ed certificate holders in teacher's interview in near future and in SSA also, regularization are to be made to those Assistant and Junior Teachers who have possessed DIET, B.Ed and other equivalent certificates.
AAPUTTA appealed the minister to look into the matter before May 15.

It is really pathetic to know that Indians has the highest number of Swiss bank deposits when the countries’ economic condition is not improving. Day by day, months by months poor is becoming poorer and rich are becoming richer.
A businessman Hasan Ali has an account of 8 billion dollars of black money in Swiss bank accounts. This might be only one case. There must be million owners of Black Money who are becoming richer and richer. The Supreme Court is very correct to rebuke government by saying "You say different agencies are looking into the issue. Till now what these agencies were doing? Are they sleeping?
Here we can also take the example of Farmers suicide in India at the time which can also be due to immense poverty. At least 17,368 Indian farmers killed themselves in 2009, the worst figure for farmer suicides in six years, according to data of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).
This is entire negligence of the government who was giving the poor more reasons to be poor and the corrupt rich the perfect Swiss honeymoon, married to corruption!

Dear Editor,
I'm very sorry to say that most of the websites of our state look very primitive and weak. Anyone can hack into those websites. Even their presentation is not satisfactory.
I've been visiting the sites like http://apdhte.nic.in/dhe.htm, www.arunachalpradesh.nic.in and other websites of various institutions, and every time I get disappointed.
Take the recently launched www.nesports.in. Even the introduction written on the home page has many grammatical mistakes. For example "The Games will see human skill and above all of courage and uphold the spirit the northeast game and seeds of equality and friendship. This is an occasion to essential spirit of Northeast Game. May this spread peace equality among all people and May this participation will spread friendship....." and "following athletic events held at Rupa this morning and their results as follows. "
Can they please correct such mistakes? I don't know where they learn such English from? Even their presentation is too simple and the contents are not satisfactory. I hoped that I could view some action Highlight videos on the HIGHLIGHTS content, but was too embarrassed to see only few lines on introduction about the game. I was very excited to show this site to my friends, but I can't, because I don't want to ruin my state's status.
And about the State Govt. site and the APDHTE site, I am seeing the same page and contents what I saw last year, with only few new contents. I don't know whether it is updated or not. APDHTE site looks all messed up. There is no proper categories and contents too are on very small fonts. I've to search through the whole site line by line to look for what I want. Please mend it as soon as possible. There are many aspiring and capable IT engineers walking on streets.
So, I'd like to suggest the Authorities to advertise before developing any site,
so that every IT engineers could get a chance to place their foot on IT-

And I request student bodies like AAPSU to take up the issue, because just like me, there are many students who have applied for the NEC scholarship, because it pays more than AP Govt. stipend. But this year I don't feel they are willing to grant us the stipend.

The funny language and its funnier usage
Dear Editor,
It is ridiculous if one go through the application forms of various government offices of Arunachal Pradesh wherein numbers of silly mistakes are being committed by certain clerks, which looks odd.
Application forms for issue of new/ renew/duplicate ration cards in the office of the District Food & Civil Supplies, East Siang reads as

Who are the people responsible for these silly mistakes?
Are the educated and obedient typists taking their profession casually or is the concerned officers who deliberately make faulty draft?
As we all know that English is a funny language, we should at least keep in mind the proper usage of word, sentence, punctuation so that the message is conveyed corectly. Misuse or ‘improper use of punctuation may totally change the meaning of the whole sentences.
In the recent Class-
Secondly, it is awful and very funny to look at the entries of ugly writing in the original documents like Death/Birth certificates, PRC, STC, Income and other certificates issued by concerned offices which are to be retained and preserved as one’s dossier.
I request the concerned authority to at least check the content once again for a error free printing of the relevant forms. I also request the issuing authority to assign a good calligrapher for writing necessary entries/text in the important documents or such documents should be computer generated.

Awareness campaign on RTI
PASIGHAT, Apr 27: Aane Siang RTI Activist Forum (ASRTIAF ) has decided to launch awareness campaign at various places of Siang belt to bring more awareness on Right To Information(RTI) for a transparent and healthy society.
SIC’s interim order
ITANAGAR, Apr 27: While hearing a complaint lodged by East Kameng District Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha president Loku Sono on delay in furnishing information relating to expenditure involved in construction of storm water drainage system and infrastructure development of Seppa township, Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission in an interim order asked the PIO of urban development department, Seppa to furnish the information sought within one month.
SIC in its recent judgment further said that all the documents should be furnished free of cost which is applicable u/s 7 (6) of the RTI Act 2005.
Awareness campaign
ITANAGAR, Apr 27: The proposed tree plantation drive cum awareness campaign of All Papum Pare Youth Association (APPYA) at Doimukh has been deferred to April 29. Earlier it was proposed to be held on April 25.
Parliamentary Secretary, Industries Nabam Rebia and DFO Tasso Sera would attend the function as chief guest and guest of honour.
